Job description:
Colva currently runs a Life Settlements fund which has over $50M in AUM, and it will be growing further. We are looking for an organised accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting needs of the fund. We are looking for candidates with excellent working knowledge in excel. Good ability in oral and written communication. Should be able to work independently. The candidate should be diligent, give a lot of attention to detail and aim for excellence in their work and deliverables.
The candidate should have a curiosity and ability to learn, an interest in finance and a drive to help a company grow. Since were a small company, the candidate will have direct exposure to many elements of running and helping grow a financial servicing business. The candidate will have opportunities for growth and bonuses based on performance.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand how a Life Settlements fund works.
- Understand the mechanics of our fund to know how to categorise transactions.
- Maintain an account of all transactions including gathering supporting documentation.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivables.
- Reconcile Fund Administrators’ reports with our numbers and resolve the differences.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly investor statements that report fund returns.
- Manage company’s QuickBooks.
Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in accounting.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Organized fund accountant to manage the day-to-day accounting.
- Good knowledge in Excel (including the formulas EDATE(),DATEDIF(), RIGHT(), LEFT(), MID(), IF(), AND(), OR(),
- SUM(), SUMIF(), SUMIFS(), AVERAGE(), AVERAGEIF(), VLOOKUP(), OFFSET(), MATCH(), etc.)
- Good in oral and written communication.
- Should be able to work independently.
- The candidate should be diligent, give a lot of attention to detail and aim for excellence in their work and deliverables.
