Financial Analyst

Overview

Job Description and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct financial forecasting, reporting, and track operational metrics.

2. Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support.

3. Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.

4. Analyze results, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations

for improvements.

5. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.

6. Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans

and forecasts.

7. Guide the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.

8. Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.

9. Conduct comparative analyses, interpret data, and suggest actions based on proposed

changes in materials and methods.

10. Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc

reports, standard tools, and Excel dashboards.

11. Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.

12. Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps.

13. Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models.

14. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data query and

management tools such as Access, SQL, and Business Objects.

15. Conduct industry benchmarking and/or management ratio analysis to provide insights

into the company’s financial performance.

16. Provide support to the divisional heads and assist in financial budget planning.

Qualification and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.

2. 8+ years of business finance or other relevant experience with startups.

3. High proficiency in financial modeling techniques.

4. Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions.

5. Chartered Accountant or MBA (Finance).

6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate

significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

7. Good business acumen.
